I don’t cook or bake often. My scope of meals stops and starts at chicken and veg. I used to bake cakes or make a toad in the hole but I have got out of the habit of doing so. I wanted to change this and make or bake something every weekend. I thought I’d start simple, raw protein bars, a sweet snack for when I’m craving chocolate and something that couldn’t possibly go wrong! Well, when you have the ingredients needed that is!

This is the originalΒ recipe vs what I actually used:

1 tablespoon coconut oil – used it

2 tablespoons cocoa powder –Β  hot chocolate powder

1/4 cup unflavoured whey protein powder – chocolate flavoured protein powder

1 tablespoon coconut flour – plain flour

2 tablespoons goji berries – chopped dates

2 tablespoons almond milk – used it

1 tablespoon toffee flavouring drops or your sweetener of choice – half Walgreens pancake syrup half Walgreens caramel syrup

2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts – used it
