Wow! Does my flat smell divine right now?

I have just made Chocolate heaven cake, it smells even better than the sweet potato brownies. Even with windows open and it being out of the oven for 30 minutes cooling down, it smells so good I want to shove my face in it.

I changed the recipe slightly from the one I found here…  http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2014/02/07/chocolate-heaven-cake-low-carb-wheat-free-sugar-less-nut-free-gluten-free/

This recipe would be perfect if you are having a low carb high fat week. It also is perfect as a cheat day treat, a celebratory cake, or a f***k it its Friday dessert!

The recipe is simple

300g Dark chocolate. I used 56 squares of Sainsbury’s own Smooth Dark Chocolate. When You scan the Barcode it comes up in squares rather than grams!

175g Butter

2tsp vanilla extract

6 eggs

6tbs Double cream. They only had huge tubs of this, so I bought a small tub of single cream and used the lot! 150ml of it…

Method

Melt butter and chocolate together in saucepan.

Whisk Eggs, cream and vanilla essence together. I recommend using a fork or an electric whisk, mine have a little bit of visible egg white in them, might bother some of your guests when you make into a chocolate torte at your dinner party!

Combine the two then pour into a large lined dish, bake for 40 Minutes at 180. Done!

The fine details. When split into 16 pieces, they contain approximately 231 Calories 18.5g Fat 10.9g Carbs 4.5g Protein

My honest review, I ate one whilst writing this, its warm and stodgy, thicker than cake, tastes yummy but I think it’s going to taste better cold as it has an almost mousse-like consistency. I would make them again, I would eat one hot again. Yes, they are shove your face in them scrumptious. I’m going to make them fit into my plan this week!

I hope you make them and enjoy them as much as me!
